Pre-requisite: - Successful completion of our Bronze and Silver Course. Or - Experienced salon assistant (2 years) looking to take the next step in your career. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to become a professional dog groomer as well as stylist. The course will include: - Efficiency in styling preparation work, to make the most out of your time. - Pet styling and adjusting style to suit the clients requirements and dogs lifestyle. - What blades/clippers to use. - How to look after your grooming tools. - Correct techniques for using clippers, blades and scissors. - Shadow a stylist during consultations with new clients. - Correct handling techniques when styling. - Understanding how the dog is communicating with you and adjusting handling to ensure the dog is as comfortable and relaxed as possible. This is a 30 day course. (10am-4pm) - Work experience is highly recommended - This course must be completed a minimum of 2 days a week consecutively. - You must come equipped with/purchase: - Scissors (we have suitable student packs available to buy) - Books (we will discuss what you will need) - The final two days students will be given four dogs to complete a full groom within a specific time frame. *Please note: In addition to attending this course, should students wish to complete their Certified Professional Groomer (CPG) qualification, they must apply directly to IPG to complete.
