Service Description

This tailored course requires owners to bring along their dog, to practice on, whilst learning how to groom. The day will start with an hour introduction covering all you need to know about grooming your dog. This introduction session also allows your dog to settle in and relax before we get started. All equipment will be provided for the day. If however you do have some small pieces of equipment please bring along with you and we can check and discuss if it is suitable to use on your dog. The day will include: - How to health check your dog and what to look for. - Introducing your dog to equipment in a positive manner. - Choosing the correct shampoo to use for your dogs skin and coat type. - Best practice for bathing your dog to ensure you get a squeaky clean finish. - Hand drying your dog to ensure you prepare the coat correctly. - Best practice for Nail clipping & Pad trimming. - Advice on clipping & trimming in a short pet trim (breed standard not included). - Correct and safe handling to keep you and your dog safe during the groom. Key Points: Delegates will need to bring your own dog and your dog needs to: - Be used to and comfortable with the grooming process. - Have a coat is in good condition and free from knots and matting. Please note- Failure to do this will result in you not being able to complete the course, with no refund available. - Have a maximum of 6 weeks growth (If you are not sure please speak to us directly and we may ask for a photo or short video). - Be comfortable around other dogs. Should we feel your dog's welfare needs are not being met, during the course, then we will stop the course immediately as all dog's welfare is of the utmost importance to us. This course is to teach you how to groom your own dog that you bring along to the course. We will be teaching short pet trims. The use of clippers will be required so your dog must be used to them (no breed standard or hand stripping is available on this course). This course does not qualify you to groom other dogs or offer it as a service. Should the delegates do so, this will be at their own risk and can potentially put themselves and other dogs at risk. Course fees are non-refundable. For group courses no deposits will be required until we have a full class. A deposit of £100 per person will thereafter be required, with the remaining balance to be paid in full no later than 2 weeks, before the date of your course.

Cancellation Policy

Salon clients - at least a 24 hour notice period is required per dog, failure to do so will incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the cost of the grooming fee. Clients failing to give the required 24 hours cancellation notice and miss their appointment completely will be required to pay 100% of the cost of the grooming fee and a 20% non-refundable deposit for any future appointments. Academy students - If you wish to cancel your course then this must be done before the final payment is required. Once the total amount is paid it cannot be refunded except in exceptional circumstances.
