Pre-requisite: - Successful completion of The Lady & The Tramp Bronze Course Coupled with the Bronze Course, the Silver Course is aimed at students wishing to develop a career in the dog grooming industry. Throughout the course you will delve further into the skills and knowledge required to become a grooming assistant. To include: - Understanding how to approach various dog breeds and their varying characteristics to ensure your’s and the dog’s safety. - Selecting the correct shampoos to suit each dog's coat and skin needs. - Correct lifting techniques to ensure you and the dogs are safe at all times. - Bathing techniques to ensure the coat is washed correctly and completely clean. - Basic Health Checks. - Drying techniques to cover all coat types. - Correct Handling techniques. - Nail Clipping. - Clearing pads (scissoring and clipping). - Clearing sanitary areas when required. - Tutorial on keeping preparation areas clean and tidy. - Assisting stylists. This course will prepare you to potentially work in a salon as a grooming assistant. Successfully completing this course will enable you to apply for our Gold and/or Platinum Course, providing a fast track approach to becoming a professional groomer or salon owner. Key Points: - This is a 30 day course and the first 8 days must be completed in 2 weeks. Remaining days can be booked 2 - 4 days/week to suit the student. - Certificate of attendance will be awarded and the final day of the course will be an assessment day. - Course will run 9am - 2pm daily. - Work experience is highly recommended. This must be completed at another salon. Why choose Lady and the Tramp Grooming Academy: - A maximum of 2 students will be in this course at any one time. - You will learn from a certified stylist with over 30 years experience. - The course is completed in a real life working environment. - All dogs are provided for students. - After you have completed the course, ongoing support will be available, should students require it. - Upon successful course completion, students will be able to apply for a bespoke “Earn as you Learn” Course.
